Norman Paige, age 87, of Mission Hills, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on August 25, 2016, surrounded by his family. Mr. Paige was an internationally well-known opera singer. He and his young family came to Lawrence, Kansas in 1969 where he took the position as Professor of Vocal Performance at the University of Kansas, and continued teaching until his retirement in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Inci Bashar, daughter, Peri, granddaughters, Shayla and Miranda, and sister, Naomi Popkin. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Janet Hanemann for her gentle, loving, and devoted care during this past year. He will be sorely missed by those he touched with his beautiful voice, sense of humor, encyclopedic knowledge, enthusiasm, and kind heart, A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
